1. Introduction
Humble Care is a humanitarian and community-support organization based in Mankon, Bamenda, North West Region, Cameroon. Humble Care works to support individuals, families, children, students, single mothers and communities through programs and initiatives in education, healthcare-related support, livelihoods, awareness and sensitization, and related community support.
This Donation & Refund Policy explains how donations made to Humble Care through its website or mobile application are handled.
2. How Donations Are Made
Humble Care may accept donations through methods made available on its official website or mobile application, including:
- Bank transfer (coordinates provided upon formal request); and
- Mobile Money (MTN Mobile Money & Orange Money).
Donors are responsible for following the payment instructions provided by Humble Care.
Manual Verification Workflow: Humble Care currently uses a manual donation process. This means that a donor may make a bank transfer or Mobile Money payment outside the application and then submit a receipt or other proof of payment through the available donation portal (Donate Portal).
3. Proof of Payment
Where requested, donors may be required to upload a receipt, transaction confirmation or other reasonable proof of payment.
Proof of payment may be reviewed by Humble Care to:
- Confirm that a donation was made;
- Match a payment with the information submitted by the donor;
- Prevent duplicate or fraudulent donation records;
- Maintain accurate financial and administrative records; and
- Support appropriate reporting and accountability.
Submitting proof of payment does not by itself guarantee that a donation will be immediately confirmed. Humble Care may need to verify the transaction before recording it as confirmed.
4. Accuracy of Donation Information
Donors should provide accurate information when submitting donation details or proof of payment.
A donor should not upload:
- Another person's private financial information without permission;
- Banking passwords;
- Mobile Money PINs;
- Authentication codes;
- Security credentials; or
- Other information that is not reasonably necessary to confirm the donation.
If a receipt contains unnecessary sensitive information, donors should avoid submitting information that is not needed for verification where reasonably possible.
5. Donation Verification
Humble Care may verify donation information using reasonable administrative procedures.
A donation may be placed on hold while verification is being completed where:
- The submitted information is incomplete;
- The payment cannot immediately be matched;
- The proof of payment appears unclear;
- Duplicate submissions are detected; or
- There are reasonable concerns about fraud, misuse or error.
6. Donations and Assistance Applications
Independent Humanitarian Principles:
Making a donation to Humble Care does not create an entitlement to receive assistance from Humble Care.
Similarly, a person who receives assistance from Humble Care is not required to make a donation in order to qualify for assistance. Assistance decisions are handled strictly according to relevant program requirements, available resources, verification procedures and applicable humanitarian criteria.
7. Refunds
Because donations are intended to support Humble Care's humanitarian and community-support activities, donors should carefully confirm the amount and payment details before making a donation.
A refund may be considered where, for example:
- A payment was made in error;
- The same donation was accidentally made more than once;
- There is a verified payment-processing mistake; or
- Humble Care determines that a refund is appropriate in the circumstances.
Refund requests should be submitted promptly to:
The donor may be asked to provide reasonable information needed to identify the transaction.
8. Fraudulent or Suspicious Donations
Humble Care may investigate, delay, reject or return a donation where there are reasonable concerns that the donation:
- Was made fraudulently;
- Involves unauthorized use of another person's payment method;
- Is connected to unlawful activity;
- Contains misleading information; or
- Cannot reasonably be verified.
Humble Care may also cooperate with appropriate financial institutions, payment providers or lawful authorities where required or appropriate.
9. Donation Records
Humble Care may retain reasonable records relating to donations for administrative, financial, accountability, reporting, auditing and legal purposes.
Personal information connected with donations will be handled in accordance with Humble Care's Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to This Policy
Humble Care may update this Donation & Refund Policy when its donation processes, programs or legal or administrative requirements change.
The latest version published through Humble Care's official website or application will apply from its stated effective date.
