The Elderly Care program is focused on improving the lives of older adults through caring services with opportunities for social interaction, recreation, needs, basic responsible support, volunteerism, and community activism.
Most of Cameroon’s older people are female living in rural areas. The migration of young people to Urban cities in search of jobs has disrupted traditional family structures and weakened support systems for older people. Those who live alone or head households where other members are children often face challenges accessing healthcare, housing, transport, energy, social support, food, water, and other support services that they rely on.
